Nokia 3390 Stuff

This page has some resources I found while playing around with my Nokia 3390 phone.  This phone supports screensaver graphics, ring tones and other features which can be loaded into the phone through a data cable connected to your computer's serial port.  You can purchase a cable for the 3390 at the cell phone shop.

In addition to a data cable, you will need a program running on your PC to communicate with your cell phone.  I have been using LogoManager.  This program allows you create and edit various images that the cell phone supports.  It will download images and ring tones to your phone.  You can also use it to back up the Phonebook stored in your phone and read various info out of your phone.

Here are some screen saver logos I found or created for my phone recently:

You can find many more on a variety of websites dedicated to Nokia mods.  This site has lots more info on images than can be downloaded to your phone.   If you like any of the images above, you can right click on the image and select "Copy" to copy it to your clipboard.  You can then paste them into LogoManager and send them to your phone.

Phone Hardware Mods

I have replaced the LEDs in my wife and I's 3390 as described on the all4cell website (don't do this yourself unless you are very comfortable soldering surface mount components.. it can be rather difficult).  I used hyper blue LEDs for my keypad and ultra white LEDs for my LCD display.  I used ultra purple LEDs for my wife's keypad and ultra white LEDs for her LCD display.  This changes the original light green background illumination color to this:

My LCD looks a little washed out in this picture.. but on the phone it looks great.  Here are a few links I found useful for Nokia stuff...

These sites have LEDs for sale (I have purchased from both):

This site has lots of downloadable ring tones:

This site is the official Nokia site for the 3390 phone (downloadable manual, etc):
